Here and Now

(Randall Lee Anderson)

It’s a miracle were even here together

This moment in time, sharing this space

Millions of years and Billions of people

Still here we are, face to face

You can talk all night if you want to; I’m not going anywhere

Or close your eyes and barely make a sound

You don’t have to wonder what I’m thinking about

Cause I’m right here beside you, in the here and now

I could just lie next to you forever

But there’s never enough time for us in a day

Tonight let’s leave this crazy world behind us

It’s just you and I, a million miles away

Hold me tight if you want to, I’m not going anywhere

Tonight I’ll make every second count

You don’t have to wonder what I’m thinking about

Cause I’m right here beside you, in the here and now

Let’s forget the future and the past

We may never get a second chance

All of our yesterdays have brought us to this one moment in time

Let’s make it last

You can talk all night if you want to; I’m not going anywhere

Tonight we’re gonna make every second count

You don’t have to wonder what I’m thinking about

Cause I’m right here beside you, in the here and now

Time Flies

(Randall Lee Anderson)

We’ve had good times, we’ve had troubles

Just like everybody does

But I get happy, always get happy

Just thinking about how it was

After all is said and done, I wouldn’t trade a minute

It’s your life, and I’m just glad I’m in it

You fit me like a glove

Time flies when you’re in love

We’re getting older, every day

Just like everybody does

But I’m still crazy, about you baby

I’m always thinking about us

When we’re alone together, I wish that time would stop

But all I hear, Is the ticking of the clock

You’ll always be the one

Time flies when you’re in love

Time goes by so fast, and all I want to do

Whenever I’m with you, is make it last

We’ve had good times, we’ve had troubles

Just like everybody does

But I get happy, always get happy

Just thinking about how it was

When we’re alone together, I wish that time would stop

But all I hear, Is the ticking of the clock

When it comes to you, I never get enough

Time flies when you’re in love

Time flies when you’re in love

Somebody Somewhere

(Naomi Lewis/Randall Lee Anderson)

I stared at the room full of couples

And wished that I would have stayed home

The mood was just right for lovers that night

But I was sitting alone

While somebody somewhere was falling in love

The way that few ever do

Madly and deeply and head over heels

I was dreaming of someone like you

You asked if the seat was taken

I smiled and said I saved it for you

We shared an hour of dreaming out loud

But the moment you touched me I knew

That somebody somewhere was falling in love

The way that few ever do

Madly and deeply and head over heels

The way I was falling for you

It happens in the strangest of places

And without reason or rhyme

I still can’t believe you happened to me

I was lucky to be in the right place and time

Somebody somewhere is still falling in love

The way that few ever do

Madly and deeply and head over heels

The way that I once did with you

The way I’m still falling for you

Hangin’ on the words

(Naomi Lewis/Randall Lee Anderson)

I used to hang on every word you said

We always met each other half way

Now you’ve become so distant

I’m feeling so left out

I’m Hangin’ on the words you never say

We used to laugh; we used to talk for hours

You haven’t said a word since Saturday

I miss you saying you love me

I don’t know how you feel

I’m Hangin’ on the words you never say

Our whole life together

All the love we’ve ever made

How can we just let us slip away?

Our past and all our future

Everything’s at stake

And Hangin’ on the words you never say

When I speak there’s an echo in the room

Seems like you’re a thousand miles away

Don’t you get the picture?

We’re hanging by a whisper

We’re Hangin’ on the words you never say

Our whole life together

All the love we’ve ever made

How can we just let us slip away?

Our past and all our future

Everything’s at stake

And Hangin’ on the words you never say

Man of Her Dreams

(Randall Lee Anderson)

In her black velvet gown

She smiles like she’s in heaven

She’s twirling around

And it’s good to be dancing again

But she’s wishing somehow things were different

As her feet glide across the floor

I can tell by the look in her eyes

She doesn’t like this dance anymore

She’d rather be dancing, with the man of her dreams

So don’t bother asking, she’s not nearly as content as she seems

She’s just biding her time, but her heart’s already setting her free

Oh how I wish the man of her dreams was still me

In her flannel pajamas

She dines at a table for two

Her heart starts to wonder

What she got herself into

While I’m out taking care or commitments

She waits all alone in bed

By the time I have time for her

She’s already dreaming again

She’d rather be dancing, with the man of her dreams

So don’t bother asking, she’s not nearly as in love as she seems

She’s just biding her time, but her heart’s already setting her free

Oh how I wish the man of her dreams was still me

I’m gonna try to make up, for all the times I’ve left her alone

I’ll take her out dancing more often, and spend more time at home

Then maybe I’ll be the man of her dreams

The man she fell in love with, the man I used to be

We’ll be gliding across the dance floor, and she won’t have to pretend

‘Cause she’ll be dancing, with the man of her dreams again

She’ll be dancing with the man of her dreams again

How Did You Love

(Randall Lee Anderson)

Last night I dreamed I died and went to heaven

Standing just outside those pearly gates

St. Peter said your life is gonna flash before your eyes

So watch the screen, we’ve got it all on tape

The first thing that I saw was my own child hood

I saw my mom and daddy do their best

St. Peter said you never really knew how much they loved you

Watch closely, there’s gonna be a test

How did you love, Who did you follow

Are you proud of everything you’ve done

Were you part of the problem or part of the solution

How did you love

As the story of my life unfolded

I saw mistakes I forgot I’d even made

I got angry at times, with the people that I love

Said some things I wish I hadn’t said

I saw people with the world on their shoulders

And I hardly ever took the time to help

St. Peter said the good news is you get what you deserve

The bad news is you’re gonna judge yourself  (brother)

How did you love, Who did you follow

Were there kindnesses you didn’t do enough of

Did you show compassion towards your fellow man

How did you love

Sometimes angels masquerade as ordinary people

Sometimes people say and do stupid things

Everybody needs to be forgiven

You can know the joy forgiveness brings

When I realized that I was only dreaming

I thanked the lord for family and friends

It’s not too late to show them how much they mean to me

I’ve got a second chance to make amends

I’ll get even with everyone who has helped me

And every stranger I meet, I’ll wish them well

I’m gonna learn forgiveness, patience and love

And at the end of every day I’ll ask myself

How did you love, Who did you follow

Are you proud of everything you’ve done

Were you part of the problem or part of the solution

How did you love

She’s Still Here

(Randall Lee Anderson)

She wrapped the dishes in the morning paper

Carried her clothes out to the car

There’s a pile of boxes she’ll be back for later

She’s found a place to make a brand new start

Any fool could see she’s really leaving

But she’s not really gone

She’s still here in all her glory

Pretty as the picture in the hall

She’s the dresser in the bedroom

She’s in the color of these walls

She’s the pattern on the curtains

She’s in my favorite chair

Her body might be somewhere else tonight

But she’s still here

She says no one’s to blame; she doesn’t hate me

She says I’ll find somebody new

But someday soon I’ll probably go crazy

Cause loving her was like a dream come true

Any fool could see this time it’s over

But I’m still holding on

She’s still here in all her glory

She’s in the shine upon the floor

She’s the flowers in the planter

Growing just outside the door

She’s the smell of bath and bubbles

And she lingers in the air

Her body might be somewhere else tonight

She’s been flowing through my veins

Since the moment that we met

She’s in the middle of my brain

And deep inside my chest

She’s got both her arms around me

Running her fingers through my hair

Her body might be somewhere else tonight

But she’s still here

Calling Me Names

(Randall Lee Anderson)

We started out so young, we were so much in love

We didn’t care about statistics, we were gonna show the world

Then we got caught up in life, and the pressures of money and time

Then I became indifferent, and she became a different girl

We didn’t talk about the future, or any little things we’d heard

We spent our time together hardly saying a word  (but now)

My baby’s calling me names like she used to

And our love’s starting to grow, she’s rekindled a flame that burned out long ago

She started saying things like honey bunch and baby, sweet cheeks and sugar pie

Things are starting to change, my baby’s calling me names

We almost lost the fight, we didn’t even kiss goodnight

We had zero communication, no tenderness at all

Then out of the blue, she whispered, “I love you”

That caused a chain reaction, we started tearing down the walls

It’s so good to be here, when I see where we’ve been

It’s like falling in love all over again

My baby’s calling me names like she used to

And our love’s starting to grow, she’s rekindled a flame that burned out long ago

She started saying things like honey bunch and baby, sweet cheeks and sugar pie

Things are starting to change, my baby’s calling me names

All it takes to get back on track is a kind word or two

Just take her in your arms and say, “I think the world of you”

It’s so good to be here, when I see where we’ve been

It’s like falling in love all over again

My baby’s calling me names like she used to

And our love’s starting to grow, she’s rekindled a flame that burned out long ago

She started saying things like honey bunch and baby, sweet cheeks and sugar pie

Things are starting to change, my baby’s calling me names

Things are starting to change, my baby’s calling me names

Highlight of my life

(Randall Lee Anderson)

She came to him as soon as she heard

She pulled the chair closer to his bed

He was sleeping so she didn’t say a word

When he finally opened up his eyes, he looked at her and said

You were the highlight of my life

My every dream, my only true love

You were my comfort in the night

I never dreamed a man could be loved so much

He said I’ve seen the changing of the seasons

I’ve heard children playing in the sun

I’ve felt the rain; I’ve smelled the roses

But of everything I’ve ever seen and all the things I’ve done

You were the highlight of my life

My every dream, my only true love

You were my comfort in the night

I never dreamed a man could be loved so much

He said don’t be sad about me going

It’s something we all have got to do

There’s so many moments in our lives we take for granted

I’m just glad I had the chance to spend most of mine with you

‘Cause you were the highlight of my life

My every dream, my only true love

I’ll be with you again and for all time

But until then I’m gonna miss you so much

And I’ll be waiting for you

The Way She Broke My Heart

(Randall Lee Anderson)

It wasn’t the color of her hair or the clothes she used to wear

Or the way she gave me love every night

It wasn’t the things she used to say that took my breath away

Or the way she held me tight

It was the way she broke my heart   The way she tore my world in two

The way she broke my heart and fell in love with someone new

She used to look me in the eye and tell me, She’d never be untrue

The way she broke my heart reminds me of you

It wasn’t the smell of her perfume when she came into a room

Or the way she used to whisper in my ear

She couldn’t do the things you’d do, She didn’t look at all like you

But now the resemblance is clear

It was the way she broke my heart   The way she tore my world in two

The way she broke my heart and fell in love with someone new

She used to look me in the eye and tell me, She’d never be untrue

The way she broke my heart reminds me of you

I thought I’d finally found the one who wouldn’t turn and run

You were gonna love me for all time

Now I see that nothing’s changed but the faces and the names

And the happiness that used to be mine

It was the way you broke my heart   The way you tore my world in two

The way you broke my heart and fell in love with someone new

You used to look me in the eye and tell me,   You would never be untrue

The way you broke my heart reminds me

The way you broke my heart reminds me I’m a fool for ever loving you

Calling Out To You

(Randall Lee Anderson)

The way you made me feel, the way you made me shine

I was such a fool; I should have made you mine

Now we’re worlds apart, and there’s nothing I can do

But I still hear my heart, calling out to you

When I set you free, you said time would change my mind

You said just wait and see, Things change all the time

You said I’d have regrets; Words never rang so true

My heart’s pounding in my chest, calling out to you

How can I forget all those nights looking in your eyes

I can’t forget your touch; I miss you so much

Would you wait for me, in another life

I promise I won’t make, the same mistake twice

I’m sorry for the past, and things I can’t undo

And I still hear my heart, calling out to you

My heart will always be, calling out to you
